There will be a senior information night on

 Wednesday, August 26 at 6 PM in the library. 

There will be crucial information regarding updates to senior projects, senior ads and yearbook details, and special material on scholarships and credits that are not to be missed. We look forward to seeing all of you there! 

Electric Vehicle Challenge

Mr. Moore's NHHS students did an amazing job at the Electric Vehicle Challenge Final Event! After a lot of hard work and long hours the awards are in:

3rd Place Range, STEM Cycle Class

2nd Place Troubleshooting, STEM Cycle Class - Shane Davis and Matthew Borneman

1st Place Vehicle Design, STEM Cycle Class - Duncan Borneman, Nolan Jewell

3rd Place Overall, STEM Cycle Class

Please congratulate these guys on their awesome performance.

FROM MR. MOORE: We are looking for old bed frames. The metal from these will be used to help construct structural components for our vehicles. I will gladly come to you/meet you to pick up your donation. Should you just happen to have 1-1/2" to 2" angle iron just laying around, we would love to have that too.

Sophomores and Juniors! Honors Service Learning Applications are now AVAILABLE

Attention Sophomores and Juniors: Applications for the Honors Service Learning Class are now available outside room 205 or go to the Honors Service Learning Course Link on the webpage  https://sites.google.com/a/nhcs.net/honors-service-learning-info/

 These are for the Fall 2015 semester. If you would like to be a part of this class, you must complete an application and turn it in by Friday, May 1st by 3:30pm to Mrs. Felts in room 205. 

Gracyn, Nero and Archie walk into a classroom....

Kylee Maarshalk's student intern, Sydney Doyle from Lenoir-Rhyne University,  invited the Cape Fear Raptor Center to come into our English II classes today following a unit on falconry in the Middle East. Doyle's class welcomed Gracyn, a volunteer for the Raptor Center and a Biology Major from UNCW; Nero, a one-year old red-tailed hawk.; and Archie, a one-year old great horned owl. 

The students had the opportunity to ask Gracyn an array of questions about the lives of the birds of prey that she works with and about how they can get involved in working with the falcons as well.
